The vertical zig-zag nylon gear which was broken on my model 45. I had this replaced with a brass gear. The nylon gears were fitted because they were quieter than a metal version, although I noticed no difference.

  2. Hi there, I have a Frister Dressmaker bought new in 1984 and i have just lost the snap-on zip foot that came with it, right in the middle of a sewing project, i ordered one from ebay which looks identical but the needle hits the foot every time it comes down, I bought an adjustable zip foot but it won't fit the shank of my machine, is there any way to get hold of an original foot made by FR? thanks, Vivienne
